Bizana locals to dazzle audiences with ‘The Music Story’

Inspired by Louis Armstrong’s words ‘Music is life itself,’ Bizana-born musician Luthando Madikizela returns from Gauteng to his hometown to harmonise with the talented Neo Motsatse on the violin. The duo will perform The Music Story, a classical music performance at the Tropical Nites Theatre at Wild Coast Sun this 30 July.

The Music Story is presented by Bizana’s very own Madikizela, a young, up-and-coming Opera musician who is currently based in Gauteng. With an opportunity to showcase in his hometown, he wanted to bring the whole show by bringing on board colleagues and future stars that share a love for and are pursuing a career in music.

Performing alongside Madikizela is Motsatse on the violin. A violinist since the age of six, Motsatse is a versatile musician who performs classical fusion, mixing classical, popular, gypsy and South African sounds, a style that has seen her touring nationally and internationally. She has also won numerous competitions and is a two-time winner of the Standard Bank Ovation Awards at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda.

The two will invoke emotional melodies set in the winter of 1656. In a city that is wild and replicates summer in winter, it is set to be an afternoon of Opera versus Violin as these two dynamic artists come together to spread the gift of time travel through the sound of music, promising to take you back to where it all began.

The artistic duo will perform pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, Franz Schubert, Jules Massenet, Aram Khachaturian, Astor Piazolla, Salvato Cardillo, César Franck, Joe Darion and Mitch Leigh, to mention a few.

The Music Story will take place at the Tropical Nites Theatre at Wild Coast Sun on 30 July 2022 at 16:00. Get tickets.
