A return to ‘Mother Nature’ with Angélique Kidjo’s new album

World-renowned Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo has recently released her latest album Mother Nature. The 13-track album is available for streaming on all major platforms.

Kidjo’s first collection of original songs in seven years, Mother Nature follows her 2019 Grammy-award-winning album Celia, which celebrated the salsa singer Celia Cruz with a collection of covers. Mother Nature is packed with new music from Kidjo herself, as well as collaborations from powerhouse musicians including Yemi Alade and Sting.
The title is indicative of Kidjo’s current concerns and preoccupations – legacy and climate change. The 13 tracks across the album all reflect, in one way or another, contemporary issues of land, healing, teaching, and leaving a better world for future generations.
In addition to Alade and Sting, Kidjo has brought on younger artists from Africa and the African diaspora such as Mr Eazi, Sampa The Great, Burna Boy, and EARTHGANG.
