     Andiswa Makana’s Homecoming Opera Gala With Friends on 8 December at 19:00.
     Join international sensation Andiswa Makana, Dramatic Soprano, as she returns to her home country South Africa from Germany for a one night only concert at the beautiful Casta Diva Boutique Hotel in Pretoria.
     This special classical performance has been organised by young, upcoming baritone Andries Aldrich in celebration of South African-born, international sensation, soprano Andiswa Makana as she returns to South Africa. Andiswa will be joined on stage by Tenor Coert Grobbelaar, Baritone Andries Aldrich, Kgaugelo Mpyane on Viola and the legendary piano accompanist Susan Steenkamp-Swanepoel. Makana will perform opera arias and duets, lieder, and operetta arias and duets. She will be joined on stage by her dear friends Coert Grobbelaar (tenor) and Andries Aldrich (baritone), and will be accompanied on piano by legendary accompanist Susan Swanepoel. Be ready for an intimate concert of a lifetime, you will not want to miss this one!
     Andiswa’s musical talents were identified at the tender age of 8 years old, where she won the first prize in the junior section of a talent competition at Diaz Primary School, where she attended her primary education. In 2005 after matriculating from Linkside High School, she enrolled at Stageworld Theatre School in P.E, where she studied Drama and Musical Theatre and obtained a trinity certificate in Musical Theater.
     In 2006 she was accepted to study Vocal Art at (Opera studies) at the Tshwane  University of Technology, she completed her B-Tech Degree and graduated with cum Laude in 2012.In the same year, she participated in a series of Masterclasses which were presented by the International Johannesburg Mozart Festival, where she later was the selected recipient of a scholarship for an exchange programme in Germany in the Hochschule fur Musik und Tanz- Cologne in 2013, while in Germany she seized on opportunity and applied for one of the 20 spots per annun in the masters program of the HFMT –Cologne and out of two-hundred and eight candidates competing for a spot, Andiswa landed a spot as number nine in the top-ten best candidates to be accepted to study Master of Music in the HFMT –Cologne master’s program. 2015 Andiswa won the prestigious Mimi Coertse bursary.
     In 2017 she successfully completed and graduated as a Master of Music in Cologne, Germany. She is currently enrolled in a higher qualification level called “Konzertexam Master at the HFMT-Cologne where she is studying under the mentorship of one of Germany’s well-known tenors Professor.Josef Protschka. Andiswa recently sang the title role of Verdi’s Aïda in Cologne, Germany to great acclaim and more recently she made her debut in the War Requiem by Benjamin Britten in Johannesburg and Cape Town also with great success.
