The Rotary Club of Morningside and the Country Club Johannesburg presents An Enchanted Evening with Gauteng Opera, a fundraising event for Gauteng Opera.
The beautiful Country Club of Johannesburg in Woodmead will play host to Gauteng Opera for a special concert to raise much needed funds for the company’s operations. Gauteng Opera is very grateful for this wonderful opportunity presented by these two entities and have planned a special recital for this evening. The programme will consist of a wide spectrum of classical music, from the most beautiful and emotional opera works to the fun, sing-a-long Neapolitan Songs.
Music to be heard include highlights from the opera repertoire such as Puccini’s ‘Nessun Dorma’, Delibes’ Lakmé ‘Flower Duet’, the Rigoletto quartet and the beautiful ‘Vilja’ from The Merry Widow, to name a few. On a lighter side, the audience can expect Neapolitan songs such as ‘Torna a Surriento’, ‘O sole mio’ and the lovely ‘You raise me up’. Gauteng Opera is an all-round performing arts and entertainment company focusing on opera related productions, concerts and events. With the slogan “Opera for Everyone”, Gauteng Opera aims to expose opera to varied audiences with different opera offerings.
