It is a grand night for singing delightful melodies

Capetonians have the chance to listen to the Symphony Choir of Cape Town perform much loved anthems by Rodgers & Hammerstein. Come and experience delightful melodies from the golden age of musical cinema on Saturday, 6 October, at the Baxter Concert Hall, Rondebosch.

Symphony Choir of Cape Town Rodgers & HammersteinCape Town’s Baxter Concert Hall will resound to the voices of The Symphony Choir of Cape Town and soloists performing much loved anthems such as Climb Every Mountain, Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, Oklahoma!, You’ll Never Walk Alone and other favourite duets from hit musicals including The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, Carousel, The King and I, and South Pacific.
     Composer Richard Rodgers (1902–1979) and librettist Oscar Hammerstein (1895–1960) have been called the greatest musical-theatre writing partnership of the 20th century, and their iconic melodies continue to delight audiences across the world.
     Choir and orchestra, conducted by Alexander Fokkens, will accompany soloists UCT Opera graduate Lynelle Kenned, and baritone Conroy Scott.
