David Krut Projects and Art on the Hill are pleased to present the first interactive performance by artist Stephen Hobbs on Wednesday 15 August at 18:30 at Pre View, one of the many distinct venues at the Four Seasons Hotel, Westcliff, Johannesburg.
Unpacking The Artist allows the audience an up close and personal engagement with Hobbs, an accomplished artist, civic practitioner and communicator whose career spans 20 years as an artist involved in creative projects in Johannesburg, cities in Africa and further afield.
Hobbs a Johannesburg-based artist, innovator, inner-city disruptor and collaborator continues the tradition whereby artists translate, imagine and pre-empt trends in politics, culture and public life. Operating between the studio and the street Hobbs employs all manner of experimental methods to interact with the city in which he was born and the other cities in which he has interacted. His presentation, part performance, part demonstration, part collaboration with David Krut Workshop, Four Seasons Chef Daniel Payne and Fashion Designer Lisa Jaffe, will introduce the audience to his ways of thinking and creating through a series of diverse but interrelated stories, reflecting his energy and passion for the arts.
Date and Time:
Wednesday 15 August 2018, 18:30
The venue has a limited capacity and the audience will be restricted to 40 people.
