Visit Norval Foundation for an intimate evening of jazz, Glühwein, and an optional dinner of warming comfort food at The Skotnes Restaurant with ‘Hildegard Lernt Fliegen’, an ambitious and daring sextet from Switzerland featuring some of Switzerland’s top jazz musicians in Gallery 8 on 2 July. Dinner commences at 18:00, and the show starts at 20:30 sharp.
Is ‘Hildegard Lernt Fliegen‘ (meaning Hildegard learns to fly in German) an orchestra, a one-man band, a travelling circus or a sextet? It’s hard to say. Whatever you decide it to be, it is undeniably unusual, and most definitely one of the most creative music projects to come out of Switzerland. Hildegard Learnt Fliegen provides us with a taste from a melting pot of jazz, noise art, rock, rap and musical cabaret, with a slight of Frank Zappa meets Arnold Schoenberg flavouring.
This quirky international ensemble is on a quest for musical ingenuity and walk a continuous tightrope between jazzy exuberance and an eccentric sense of humour.
Book your ticket for an unforgettable concert experience and the second of many to follow as part of the concert programme. The Norval Foundation concert programme continues with this intimate performance by Hildegard lernt fliegen in Gallery 8 following an optional dinner served before the concert at The Skotnes Restaurant. Tickets are limited.
