As the first of the Sunday afternoon concert series, Gauteng Opera presents Sacred Songs. The programme consists of the most beautiful and well known sacred music to celebrate the upcoming Easter.
Artistic Director, Phenye Modiane and Coach, Paul Ferreira created a programme befitting this special period and musical numbers such as Ave Maria, Panis Angelicus, Pie Jesu, Ave verum corpus, Were you there?, Every time I feel the Spirit and Lift Thine Eyes to name a few, will be heard.
Gauteng Opera is an all-round performing arts and entertainment company focusing on opera related productions, concerts and events. Performing this afternoon will be the talented Gauteng Opera artists, Khayakazi Madlala (soprano), Yolanda Nyembezi (mezzo-soprano), Kagiso Boroko (tenor), Lindo Maso (tenor), Kanyiso Kula (tenor), Chuma Sijeqa (baritone), Solly Motaung (baritone) and the ensemble of Gauteng Opera Academy. They will be accompanied on piano by Paul Ferreira.
