Fugard Theatre productions receive 26 Fleur du Cap nominations

Productions presented and hosted by the Fugard Theatre have garnered an incredible 26 Fleur du Cap nominations.

     The historic production of South African musical King Kong swept twelve nominations while the local premiere of the hit West End comedy Shakespeare in Love is nominated in four categories.
     The Fugard’s acclaimed production of Funny Girl received three nominations for Ashleigh Harvey as Fanny Brice (Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a Musical), for Kate Normington as Mrs Brice (Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Musical) and for Birrie le Roux for Costume Design.
     The Fugard Theatre’s Writer in Residence Louis Viljoen has been nominated for The Eulgoists for Best New South African script. The play excitingly marked his first presentation in the position.

     King Kong is currently on at the Fugard Theatre until 4 March 2018 Tuesday to Saturdays at 20:00 with a matinee at 15:00 on Saturdays and on Sundays at 16:00.
