Images taken on Huawei’s dual lens smartphones, co-engineered with Leica.
Following the enormous success of the #SaatchiSelfie Competition, which received over 14 000 entries from 113 different countries, and the commissioning of ten exciting young British photographers to create new works using Huawei smartphones, co-engineered with Leica, Saatchi Gallery and Huawei are joining forces again with an exciting new opportunity.
The #SelfExpression Competition invites artists, photographers, creative individuals and anyone with a smartphone to turn their gaze away from the self to document the world and those around them, with the chance to win a solo exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery. Entries must not take the form of a selfie. We encourage submissions that are experimental and innovative that take smartphone photography in exciting new directions.
Who is eligible?
The #SelfExpression competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over (See www.saatchigallery.com/selfexpression for further details).
What prizes can you win?
The shortlist of ten winners, selected by a judging panel of renowned artists and forward-thinkers, will have their work exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery and will also receive Huawei’s newest smartphone. The overall winner of the #SelfExpression competition will be announced at a special private event at Saatchi Gallery, London on 19th July and will be awarded a solo exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, London, to be announced at a later date.
How do you enter?
It’s easy to enter. The competition opens for submissions today and over the course of 5 weeks, you can submit up to six photographs on www.saatchigallery.com/selfexpression. Entries can only be submitted in the form of still photographic images and not any other form of work (such as video).
